The time spent between you and the health care
provider, the complexity of the care, and the
procedures and tests required determine the fees. If
you have any questions about your bill, please ask. We
are always glad to discuss fees with our patients.
For your convenience, we participate with most
insurance companies. It is the responsibility of each
patient to be aware of their insurance requirements
regarding referrals to specialists. In order to process a
referral, our office requires 48 hour notice before your
specialty appointment. Because of the cost of billing,
it is important that the appropriate co-payments be
made by you at the time of your visit.
Medication Refills
On June 1, 2004, we began charging a minimal fee for medication refills requested by phone. The charges are $3.00 for one medication refilled and $5.00 for 2 or more refills. We regret the need to charge for refills by phone, however, the enormous volume of phone requests adversely impacts the delivery of healthcare services.
Medication refills should be coordinated during your scheduled office visit. We ask that you bring in all of your prescription medication containers (bottles, boxes, dispensers, etc.) to the visit. This ensures that your healthcare provider can comprehensively review your needs and reduce the administrative burden of phoning-in a prescription renewal.
Please be aware that the medication refill charge is not payable by insurance so this fee will not appear on your insurance statement. We understand there may be individual circumstances under which the refill charge can be waived. We appreciate your understanding. Together we can work toward a more efficient healthcare system for all.
